This stylish accessory is a simple yet striking addition to your Viper’s engine bay. It transforms the large space in front of the radiator into a sleek, custom-grilled area for a truly premium appearance.
- Prepare the Area: Remove the black plastic seal from the top of the radiator by pulling up on one end to unsnap it. Continue lifting until it’s completely detached. Note: This seal will not be reused.
- Remove Thumb Screws: Take out the two black plastic thumb screws from the air filter snorkel located just in front of the filter housing.
- Check Clearance: Some vehicles may have a small black plastic rectangular tab on the driver’s side of the radiator. If present, snip it off using wire cutters to ensure proper fitment.
- Apply Furry Disks: Attach the four 2” furry disks directly under the hood vent openings — two on each side. This prevents contact between the hood and the header plate. The two smaller disk sets should be placed on the header plate just in front of the snorkel notches after installation.
- Install the Header Plate: Protect the painted edge of the car’s nose by applying masking tape along the front flange near the hood catch. Insert the two large tabs of the header plate into the air filter snorkel while carefully maneuvering the front section over the hood latch. Avoid forcing the plate into place. Once positioned, gently slide the front past the nose flange to avoid scratching. Secure the plate by reinstalling the two plastic thumb screws — snug, but not overtightened. Ensure the plate sits flush across the radiator rail and snorkel. If needed, remove and slightly adjust the plate by hand for a perfect fit.
