When installed properly, the overlays will stay in place and will not come off due to heat, cold, or vibration.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Included: Headlight lens film vinyl tints, soft squeegee
For installation, you will need household rubbing alcohol, a soapy water mixture (one full spray bottle of water with a few drops of baby shampoo or mild dish detergent), and, optionally, a hair dryer.
WARNING: Follow every step carefully to ensure professional installation.
- Prepare both headlight lenses by washing with soap and water to remove dirt and grime. Dry completely, then scrub the lenses with household rubbing alcohol.
- Test your cleaning by applying a piece of masking tape. It should adhere to both headlight lenses. If not, continue cleaning until it does.
- Without peeling, place the headlight guard over the lens to check the fit. This gives an idea of how it will sit on the plastic lens.
Note: For bulbous lenses with tight compound curves, use a hair dryer to heat the vinyl until soft and malleable. Spray the soapy water mixture on both the car’s headlight lens and the guard as you peel the release liner. Once both surfaces are fully saturated, place the guard on the lens and position it correctly. - Using the provided soft felt squeegee, start at the center of the lens and work the fluid outwards in all directions until the guard adheres completely. Use a hair dryer to soften the vinyl for molding around complex curves. Ensure there are no air bubbles under the tint.
- Repeat the entire process for the opposite side.
- Repeat the process for the fog lights as well.
NOTE: Once removed, the overlays cannot be reinstalled as the adhesive is compromised.
