Dodge Viper 1992–2002 FOB Programming Instructions
This may work for you—
ATTENTION: You must have one working remote to add another to the system. If you do not have a working remote, these instructions will not work. You will need a locksmith or dealership to use a computer to program the first remote for you.
- Using a working keyless remote, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft/Security System.
- Insert the key into the ignition switch. Turn the ignition to the RUN position (as far as possible without cranking the engine).
- Using the working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button for 4–10 seconds.
- Within those 4–10 seconds, continue holding the UNLOCK button and then press the PANIC button (on the programmed remote) for 1 second. Release both buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that remote programming mode has been entered (allow up to 3 seconds for the chime).
- Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously, then press and release only the UNLOCK button on the same remote. A chime will sound indicating the remote has been programmed. Repeat this for each additional remote you wish to program. A chime will sound after each new remote is added.
- Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key.
- Test all remotes.
Note: If this procedure does not work, have your local Chrysler dealer program it for you.
