SPECIAL PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS for mounting ALL interior trim parts
In many situations, interior panels and surfaces become saturated with silicone chemicals such as Armor-All (even if done years ago) or other forms of residue. Although this makes the door surface look nice, these chemicals become embedded in the ABS plastic of your door panels or dashboard. These treatments must first be removed in order to prepare your surfaces to be bonded to.
This removal can take some effort. The best way we have found to remove these treatments is to apply several different solvents to break down these chemicals.
NOTE: Apply this cleaning process only to the surface areas inside your vehicle where you will be sticking your new interior trim parts.
STEP 4. Once you have completed these steps, apply a single thin swipe of the adhesive promoter in either a wipe format or a sponge tip pen (provided with your accessory). This clear, odorless liquid will prepare the surface for a tight stick and a permanent installation. Allow 2 minutes to dry.
Now, continue with your installation.
STEP 5. Once the strip readily sticks to the surface, take your trim piece (without removing the front clear liner or the rear red liner) and hold it up to where you are going to mount it. Check the fit. Many pieces need to be hand-bent to match the contours of the interior panel. The trim piece should fit exactly to the contours. You bend it, lay it in place, and continue this process until the pieces are in place perfectly.
STEP 6. Peel off the back red liner and hold the piece over the area where it is to be mounted, and slowly set it down in place. Make any last tiny adjustments.
Once it is where it fits perfectly, push down along the surface of the trim piece to form a tight stick.
STEP 7. Now you may peel off the front clear liner.
