INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Included: 1 x Glove Box Trim Plate, 1 x Adhesive Promoter Packet, 1 x Tape Test Kit
VERY IMPORTANT: You must follow all the steps below carefully. Do not skip any steps.
- Before you begin, prepare the glove box area to allow the adhesive to set properly. Clean the entire surface thoroughly using household rubbing alcohol. The part will not bond permanently without cleaning the surface first.
Caution: If your glove box has been treated with Armor-All or silicone-based coatings (such as wax), installation will not work unless these treatments have been completely removed. You can purchase a “Wax and Silicone Remover” from your local auto parts store — we recommend “3M Wax and Silicone Remover.”
If your glove box has been treated with Armor-All, rubbing alcohol alone will not remove it. You must use a wax and silicone remover.
NOTE: Some glove boxes may have been treated at the dealership before purchase. To be safe, use a wax and silicone remover before installation.
- Once the area is clean, use the adhesive promoter (provided in the small plastic packet) to wipe the glove box surface where the trim plate will be applied. Allow 30 seconds to dry.
- Before removing the red liner for permanent attachment, place the glove box cover in position and check the fit. The cover is pre-formed, but you may need to slightly adjust (bend gently by hand) for a perfect, flat fit without forcing. Make note of its final position.
- Remove the red liner from the adhesive backing and carefully reposition the glove box cover. Make sure it is straight, then press firmly to secure it in place.
- Allow it to set for at least 2 hours, then remove the protective clear top liner.
Note: When cleaning your glove box cover, always start by dusting lightly with a clean, soft cloth to prevent scratching. Then, wipe with a fresh soft cloth and a high-quality, streak-free glass cleaner.
