Description
Heavy-duty, high-polished stainless steel — looks just like chrome. This heavy-duty 8-piece set (two covers for each side of each diffuser fin) covers the rear four diffusers, or “fins,” at the bottom of your 2003–2008 Viper.
This is the finest quality kit on the market today.
Easy to mount — simply peel and stick. Fits on both sides of each fin. A chrome vinyl edge molding provides a professional, finished look.
Keeps its luster forever. Will not rust, corrode, pit, or stain.
When installed properly, it will stay securely in place and will not come off due to heat, cold, or vibration.
PARTS INCLUDED:
- 8 x Stainless Fin Diffuser Covers
- 4 x Strips of Chrome Molding
- 3 x Promoter Packets
- 2 x Tape Test Kits
NOTE: Your new covers come with a protective liner. Do not remove the liner until step 3.
- Prepare each of the four fins by washing them with soap and water to remove any dirt and dust. Then scrub with rubbing alcohol to remove any wax or oil. Allow the surfaces to dry completely.
- Test the adhesion of the mounting surface. Use a test tape or a piece of masking tape and stick it to the area where you will mount the trim covers. Test each fin and each side of your car. If the tape sticks readily, proceed to the next step. If not, continue cleaning until it adheres properly in all mounting areas.
- You have been provided with four (2-piece) sets of fin covers. Each cover is pre-layered with 3M attachment tape. Test fit each plate before removing the red liner by placing each one into position and noting where it fits. Ensure that the covers line up flush with the bottom and back edge of each fin (the larger side closest to the bumper).
- Use the adhesive promoter packets (provided) to wipe over the entire area where the covers will be mounted. Each packet covers four fins.
- Once you are satisfied with the placement, remove the red liner from the attachment tape of the first stainless steel fin cover. Carefully position the piece so that the bottom is even and flush with the black fin attached to the car. Press firmly over the entire surface to secure it. Repeat this process for the opposite side of the fin.
- NOTE: It is critical that the bottoms of the fins line up perfectly so that when you apply the edge molding, it sits evenly.
- You have been provided with four chrome molding strips. This molding is used to close the gap between the two covers of each fin, acting as an edge cap. Place the strip into position, pulling the red release liner as you press the flex trim firmly along the fin edge between the two stainless pieces. Work from one end to the other until the gap is fully covered. Repeat this for the remaining fins. You may need to slightly stretch or trim the flex molding for a perfect fit.
- Note: Take care when cleaning your stainless covers. Lightly dust them with a clean, soft cloth before wiping to prevent scratches. Then clean using a new soft cloth with a high-quality, streak-free glass cleaner. For added protection, apply a light coat of quick spray wax.
