For all 1995–2002 Vipers with hood vents. This high-quality chromed vinyl trim dresses up your hood vents. Stays shiny, heat and stain-resistant. Self-adhesive back makes mounting easy. Two pieces of trim — one for the right side and one for the left side hood vents. It will not rust, corrode, or lose its luster. When installed properly, it will stay in place and not come off due to heat, cold, or vibration.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Items included: 2 x Chrome Vinyl Strips, 1 x Adhesive Promoter packet or pen
- Prepare the area surrounding the hood vents by washing them with soap and water to remove dirt and grime. Dry completely, then scrub the trim area with household rubbing alcohol to remove wax or silicone treatments. Let dry. Carefully wipe the area where the trim will be applied with the adhesive promoter (provided). Consider using a Q-tip to avoid excess promoter on the surrounding areas. Moisten the Q-tip with adhesive promoter, and wipe off any excess immediately.
- Peel back a few inches of the backing material on the underside of the trim. Peel gradually as needed. Peeling all at once risks sticking to unwanted surfaces.
- Starting at the center of the vent side closest to the windshield, work the flexible trim around the perimeter. The edge of the trim will lie on top of the car hood, while the adhesive side sticks to the edge of the black vent screen. Work around to the start point. You will have excess trim. Simply cut off the excess using scissors or a razor knife, leaving it just slightly longer than necessary. Force the trim edge into a tight butt-seam with the starting edge. Press firmly along the entire length to set. If the trim buckles when smoothing, it is slightly too long — trim off a little more.
Remember: It is better to trim too little than too much. Keep trimming very slight amounts until it fits perfectly.
Repeat the same steps for the opposite side.
