Description
Strong and HALF the weight!
Our aluminum flywheels are made from high-quality 6061 T6 aluminum, offering excellent strength, heat dissipation, and significant weight reduction. At nearly half the weight of the original steel flywheel, it allows the engine to accelerate faster by reducing both rotating mass and the center of mass.
This is a direct replacement part designed to last the life of the car. It helps improve the longevity of the engine rotating assembly (bearings, rods, and crankshaft) by reducing weight. Fits all Vipers 1992–2002. SFI approved.
Body – 6061 T6 Aluminum
Tolerances machined to ±0.001. 6061 T6 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi and a yield strength of at least 35,000 psi.
Ring Gear – 1050 Steel / Heat Treated
Heat-treated for durability. The gears are heated, pressed on, and secured with Grade 8 button screws.
Replaceable Friction Plate – 1045 Steel
The friction surface is made from strong 1045 steel and milled to precise specifications. With replaceable plates, there is no need to replace the entire flywheel when the clutch or flywheel reaches the end of its life, saving time and money.
Button Screws – Grade 8
Provide increased security, fastening the ring gear to the flywheel.
Fasteners – Military Spec
Military-grade aerospace fasteners help dissipate heat from the clutch face and are properly spaced for optimal form and function.
Stepped Dowels – Steel
Once the pressure plate is installed, it locks in place. First in the industry to implement the use of stepped dowels.
