Description

Replacement for any Dodge RAM 1500 SRT10, V-10, 8.3L PCM – ECM Engine Controller Module, fully programmed for your specific RAM SRT10 by VIN and mileage. Plug-and-play installation.

Because these PCMs are no longer manufactured and are unavailable anywhere, we have taken another RAM SRT10 new PCM and modified it to match the exact year and transmission of your RAM SRT10 8.3L truck. This PCM will work in your RAM SRT10 like a new factory PCM – guaranteed. Tested on many RAM SRT10 automatic and manual transmissions and works great.

Dodge no longer makes PCMs for the Dodge RAM SRT10 (2004–2006). We have rebuilt factory PCMs in stock.

We will need to know:

  • VIN
  • Current PCM processor code (see photo to the right)
  • Exact mileage

Note: Chrysler-supplied PCMs are considered new, whether they are remanufactured by Chrysler or newly built.

REF:

  • 04-S — 5029467AH
  • 05-S — 5029598AH
  • 05-A — 5029599AF

  • 06-A — 5029997AE

PCM Problems?

Too often, the PCM is the first thing blamed when a vehicle has an electrical issue because it seems like an easy fix. However, in most cases, the PCM is the last component likely to be the cause. More often, the problem lies with the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), a poor electrical connection, or a short in the wiring. These issues are time-consuming and expensive to diagnose.

A PCM has no moving parts. It is simply a computer with a program. It doesn’t stop working on its own. It requires an electrical anomaly or surge to cause damage.

*** WARNING *** BEFORE you install a repaired or replacement PCM:

If your PCM is not functioning properly, it has been damaged by an electrical issue. While sometimes it may be damaged by outside sources like lightning or improper jump-starting, it is usually caused by something within your vehicle’s electrical system. Any component wired into your system (water pump, battery, starter, etc.) can cause damage. Shorts or exposed wires can also damage the PCM.

If you do not fix the underlying issue, a new or repaired PCM will be damaged again. This type of failure is not covered under warranty. That is why it is so important to have a certified mechanic diagnose and fix the electrical issue before reinstalling a PCM.

In summary:

  1. Have your vehicle checked by a dealership or certified mechanic and properly diagnosed.
  2. Fix any electrical issues if necessary.
  3. If a PCM is needed, first attempt to have your existing PCM repaired and installed under the supervision of an experienced certified mechanic.
  4. If it cannot be repaired, purchase a new PCM and install it under professional supervision.

When installing a PCM, it must be programmed with your vehicle’s specific year and model program. Then it must be flashed with your VIN and mileage. Any dealership can perform this service for a fee. You may also purchase a PCM pre-programmed with your details so it is ready to install.

LIMITED WARRANTY

This PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or TCM (Transmission Control Module), referred to herein as “PCM/TCM,” has a 120-day limited warranty from the date of shipment. Warranty is enforced by Hot Car Accessories, Inc. (HCA) at its sole discretion.

This PCM/TCM is delivered, inspected, and tested to be in good working order.

CAUTION: PCMs have no moving parts. They do not fail on their own. It takes an electrical surge to damage them. Causes include improper jump-starting, outside electrical surges, or faulty electrical components, such as a water pump. If the original problem is not corrected, the replacement PCM will also fail. Such damage is not covered by warranty. We highly recommend having a certified mechanic or dealership identify and fix the root cause before installing a replacement PCM.

If problems occur and are covered under warranty, HCA will repair, reset, or replace your PCM/TCM under the stated conditions. If no PCM/TCM is available, a prorated refund will be issued.

Covered under this warranty:

  • Circuit chips and solder connections that fail under normal driving conditions, provided the engine, components, and electrical system are functioning properly (as determined by HCA).

NOT Covered:

  • Failures caused by electrical surges from the vehicle or external sources (determined by inspection).
  • Battery disconnection/reconnection performed improperly.
  • Using the vehicle’s battery to power outside sources (e.g., jump-starting another vehicle).
  • Cracked or broken PCM/TCMs from improper installation or removal.
  • If HCA labels or stickers are removed.
  • If the PCM/TCM has been opened or tampered with by others.

If you have warranty issues:

  1. Call us for a return authorization number and correct return address at (352) 688-8160 (Mon–Fri).
  2. Send the unit to HCA with the return authorization number on the box. Include your name, address, phone number, email, and a detailed problem description. Pack securely and ensure the shipment.
  3. HCA will repair, reset, or replace the PCM/TCM. If unavailable, a prorated refund will be issued.
  4. If HCA determines the PCM/TCM is in working order with no faults, you are responsible for a $150.00 inspection fee. If faults are found and covered, return shipping within the USA and Canada is free (other locations must pay shipping).

Termination of Warranty:

  • If HCA provides a replacement PCM/TCM and issues persist, this indicates another electrical/mechanical issue, and the warranty will be voided.
  • If the PCM/TCM has been opened, tampered with, or shows signs of damage (burns, cracks, missing parts).
  • HCA’s liability is limited to the price paid for the PCM/TCM.

By installing this PCM/TCM, the customer acknowledges that HCA has sole authority to determine whether warranty coverage applies.
