Description
“How It’s Built!”
Detroit’s only hand-built production car, the Dodge Viper, is born, bred, and built in Detroit, Michigan. National Geographic provides a unique insider’s look at the Viper factory during the final year of the current model’s production. This ultimate factory is staffed by skilled craftspeople who spend two and a half days building each Viper, packing it with 600 horsepower that propels it from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds.
With no robots on the assembly line, every Viper is truly hand-crafted. Priced at about half the cost of Ferraris and Lamborghinis, only 26,000 Vipers have been produced in 18 years.
National Geographic – 45 minutes. Released: June 17, 2011.
