Dodge Ram SRT-10: The Complete Guide
For three model years, Dodge did something no other truck manufacturer had done before or has really matched since: it dropped a genuine Viper V10 into a pickup truck and sold it to the public. The result was the Ram SRT-10 — briefly the fastest production pickup truck in the world, and today one of the more interesting, affordable ways to own Viper performance. This hub page covers everything you need to know, with links to deeper guides on each specific topic.

A Genuinely Unusual Truck
Dodge had actually flirted with this idea once before — a Viper-powered Ram concept called the Ram VTS appeared at the 1996 Chicago Auto Show but never reached production. It took until the early 2000s, under Dodge’s Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO) division, for the idea to finally become a real, sellable truck.
Extensive wind tunnel testing shaped the SRT-10’s exterior, and the chassis received a custom-tuned suspension — Bilstein shocks, performance-tuned springs, and a ride height lowered by an inch up front and 2.5 inches in the rear compared to a standard Ram.
The result wasn’t just a Ram with a bigger engine bolted in. It was a genuinely engineered performance vehicle that happened to be a pickup truck.
