Description
Aftermarket – highest quality part. Exact fit and performance as factory original.
Comes in sets of 2. Choose Upstream, Downstream, or both.
Tools Needed
- 7/8″ (22mm) O2 Sensor Socket: A specialized slotted socket allows the wire to pass through so you don’t strip the sensor.
- PB Blaster or WD-40 Specialist: Essential for loosening sensors that have been heat-cycled into the exhaust for years.
- Anti-Seize Lubricant: Usually comes pre-applied on new sensors.
Installation Steps
- Preparation: Spray the base of the old sensors with penetrating oil while the exhaust is cool. Let it sit for at least 15-30 minutes.
- Disconnect the Harness: Trace the wire from the sensor to the plastic electrical connector. Press the locking tab to disconnect it.
- Tip: On Gen 3/4 Vipers, the upstream connectors are often tucked near the back of the cylinder heads/valve covers.
- Removal: Fit the O2 sensor socket over the old sensor, then turn it counter-clockwise. If it’s stuck, briefly warming the exhaust (run the engine for 1-2 minutes) can help expand the metal, but wear heavy gloves to avoid burns.
